This quirky take on the Aussie tradition around Maryborough's heritage hotels grew into a city wide festival in 2010 with more live music, performers, buskers, and an outrageous costume carnivale. Last year it was pink for breast cancer. This year's Pub Fest on 13 June turned true blue rasing over $10,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Over 10,000 people took part in the event, with over 4100 official participants visiting ten or more of the 14 participating hotels in the an attempt to beat Maryborough's own Guinness World Record of 4,718 people on a pub crawl. The World's Greatest Pub Fest is the 2009 Official Guinness World Record holder of the most people on a pub crawl and winner of Event of the Year at the 2009 Fraser Coast South Burnett Tourism Awards!
